As you help manage challenges and opportunities in your independent school, you can see the power of shared knowledge and support. The NAIS Connect online communities have become a hub for robust discussions, resource sharing, and support. To provide another forum for connection, NAIS offers online meetups for executive assistants and support staff. These free, 45-minute get-togethers offer an opportunity to connect in small groups and discuss topics of your choice as you get to know others who do what you do. 

This two-day workshop, led by Dr. Towanda Harris, will provide practical, actionable strategies for increasing achievement and strengthening students' confidence and agency. We’ll discuss how to weave varied perspectives and students’ lived experiences into your daily instruction. Participants will gain the confidence to create a classroom environment centered on literacy, where strategies and resources support and empower student learning. You’ll be equipped to actively choose tools and practices that place your students at the center of their learning journey, driving increased literacy achievement, strengthening their confidence, and fostering a sense of agency in their educational experience.

Join us at this free, one-hour meetup to discuss topics of interest with colleagues from other NAIS schools. This meetup is for all day and boarding independent and international schools in the U.S. and we invite all practitioners interested in these topics to attend.

This two-day, collaborative workshop focuses on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), a framework that uses data and instruction in increasingly targeted and responsive ways to support every learner’s academic, behavioral, and life skills development. When thoughtfully designed, tiered interventions are both proactive and responsive, fostering student engagement, inclusion, and belonging, with the ultimate goal of achieving just outcomes for all learners. Reflect on your current MTSS design, examine school-based schedules and structures that support inclusion and effective intervention, explore models of student-centered teacher collaboration, and build a shared understanding of high-quality Tier 1 instruction and research-based interventions.
